ATLAS ARRIVALS AND NCTS

ATLAS everywhere: from transit documents to tax assessments
Standard procedure, simplified procedure, customs procedures with economic impact, summary declaration
Import is the part of the ATLAS procedure with the longest track record. Many enterprises have already implemented this system but, in the rush to change over, were content to simply convert their old import management system without any changes. A good number of AEB customers, on the other hand, used ATLAS implementation as an opportunity to tighten their company processes and intensify coordination with suppliers and forwarders. With the right strategy, tangible cost-effectiveness gains can result from combining the NCTS despatch procedure with use of ATLAS Import in the simplified declaration procedure (simplified customs declaration, invoicing customs office) - in particular with early customs declaration. Click on Products and refer to the information on ASSIST4 Import and IMPORT||XPRESS to see how ATLAS can be used in real-life situations. But don’t measure an ATLAS system on its ATLAS functionality alone: the changes to customs laws related to ATLAS throw up additional hurdles that any software must overcome.
Back-door risk management
Through ATLAS, customs handling is growing to include risk management. The reason for this is the customs code reform, which is reflected in the current authorizations requiring compliance checks. The measures taken toward risk management must be demonstrated during an audit, if not sooner. When choosing a software partner, it is therefore worth considering whether a company can show experience and offer solutions in this specialized field. Experience and solutions like those offered by AEB.
